Calling the arrest of IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt on alleged concocted charges as undemocratic, the Dal Khalsa on Sunday slammed Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

Calling the arrest of IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt on alleged concocted charges as undemocratic, the Dal Khalsa on Sunday slammed Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

Dal Khalsa secretary for human rights,Prithpal Singh and spokesperson of Sikh Youth of Punjab (SYP),Prabhjot Singh,in a joint statement said the move has exposed the dangerous character of the BJP. After engineering the anti-Muslim carnage in 2002,Modi was afraid of getting exposed, they added.

“Sanjiv Bhatt, who following his conscience, had dared to expose Modi’s heinous and criminal deeds in the apex court,is now being hounded for his forthrightness. Though Modi stands exposed,it is time for all democratic forces to stand by Sanjiv Bhatt,” the leaders said.

“Politicians, including Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, participated in Modi’s Sadbhavna mission despite knowing too well about his tainted past and complicity in the Gujarat carnage,” they stated.

This is the real picture of BJP’s so-called shining India and Modi’s Sadbhavna mission, they added.

The Sikh groups also urged the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court to take suo motu notice of the alleged injustice heaped on Bhatt and harassment of his relatives.
