With Power Cut running successfully in theaters, Jaspal Bhatti's team on Friday released the pirated music CD's of the movie.
"Papa had said that piracy is a very profitable business. He said that people are anyways going to release pirated CD's and DVD's of the movie. Instead we should do it ourselves," said Jasraj, Bhatti's son and the lead actor of the last "misdirection" of Jaspal Bhatti, the satirist who passed away recently.
Releasing the "pirated" music, Savita Bhatti, his wife and both his children, Jasraj and Rabia completed what Jaspal Bhatti was on his way to do to in Jalandhar. "I hope that God gives us the strength to complete all the projects he had started," said Savita Bhatti.
"Bhatti saab had written many things which he wanted to materialize. Right now my children are not in a state of mind to work, especially Jasraj. Since Jasraj was with him till the last moment, he is very upset though he does not express it. I want both Jasraj and Rabia to first come into that state of mind before we can start any other project," added Savita.
Jaspal Bhatti had selected a team of "pirates" to release the pirated music. "He (Bhatti) has the rights to the original music while we all have the rights to the pirated music. I have all the CDs in my jacket if anyone wants to buy it," said Jasraj.
The original music of the movie will be launched on November 5 with Daddy Mohan Label.
Master Saleem, who had sung two songs for Power Cut was also present on the occasion. He said, "I remember that I had first met Jaspal Bhatti at Matka Chowk when he held a campaign against piracy. I wondered if I would ever work for him. I feel blessed to have sung two songs for Power Cut. These songs are closest to my heart".
