Chairman B Prasada Rao said today that the power equipment maker,which added 9,442 MW in the twelve months to March 31,would aim for stronger expansion at a time the central government is looking to meet the countrys growing demand for energy.

He hailed as a breakthrough order a 8,000 MW transmission link from the North East to Agra,to be built in consortium with ABB. The link is the largest order finalised in the transmission and distribution sector anywhere in the world in financial terms.
