A five-judge Bench of the Supreme Court led by the Chief Justice of India has decided to hear two curative petitions on the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy one for restoration of the stringent charge of culpable homicide filed by the CBI and the other for enhanced compensation to victims by the Centre on February 28 in open court.
The Bench headed by Chief Justice S H Kapadia took the decision during an in-chamber session on the petitions on Thursday.
The Bench also comprises Justices Altamas Kabir,R V Raveendran,B Sudershan Reddy and Aftab Alam.
