Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is mighty pleased with his upcoming film ‘Aladin’ where he plays a Genie.
The special effects in the film have never been seen before in Hindi cinema, the Big B said, adding that they blended seamlessly with the story.
"There is finesse in the final product and I hope the audience likes it," Bachchan said at a promotional event for the film.
He said apart from the name Aladin, lamp and the Genie, there is nothing in common between the film and the famous fable.
"This is a contemporary story set in a make belief city," Bachchan said.
Describing the film as "a special one", Ritesh Deshmukh, who plays the title role of ‘Aladin’, said "director Sujoy Ghosh has taken a very bold step by making a film inspired by a fairy tale. He has de-constructed the character of Aladin and the film has turned out to be visually stunning."
Bachchan also announced a donation of Rs five lakh to the Make-a-Wish foundation, engaged in fulfilling the wish of terminally ill children, which had tied up with the film.
