EVER felt lost in a football field? Felt you would never be able to reach the other end. Well, that’s exactly how you’ll feel with ViewSonic's 22-inch VX2262wm/p LCD monitor. It’s an unending field, a bit unnerving for someone used to playing ball in the backyard.
This is one hell of a monitor, especially if you are used to the regular 15” or 17” screens at home or office. The colours are something to kill for, and the 20000:1 dynamic contrast ratio coupled with the 2ms response time makes watching movies on this wide screen a real pleasure.
For DVIX buffs, this HD widescreen gives the full picture, retaining the original aspect ratio. For the first time on a computer screen, it seemed like Achilles was fighting a real army in Troy, not a bunch of tin soldiers.
Adding to the experience are the invisible stereo speakers, complete with SRS WOW HD software, that come with the monitor. These black beauties are so sleek it will take you a few minutes to find where they are tucked in. Frankly, I found them to be a good pair for speakers, ideal for surfing and a bit of ambient music. But they’re not good enough for more serious entertainment endeavours. However, that’s forgiven, since it's the visual experience that matters.
That’s where this little giant scores a nine out of ten. For instance, the monitor can display all your digital images in real size, no more reducing the size of the picture to fit it in the screen. It also reproduces colours as they are meant to be, ending the printout surprises for the avid photographers among us.
