  • In an interesting development, parents of a six-year-old boy kidnapped more than three years ago from Aurangabad in Bihar have claimed that the Sikh boy found abandoned in London is their child. The claim has baffled the local police.

Ganga Prasad and his wife Bindiya Devi said pictures of the abandoned boy in London, aired by some news channels, have close resemblance with their son Sintu, who went missing from Aurangabad in March 2005. They have sought the help of the police and state Government to get the boy to India.

“Pictures of the boy aired on television bear close resemblance with my son. I am sure he is my lost child,” said Bindiya Devi. Asked whether the distinctive mole found on the lower left cheek of the boy was also there in her child, the mother said: “No my son did not have any mole. But it must have grown later.”

After Sintu went missing in March 2005, the family had even received a ransom call from alleged abductors. Despite best efforts of the police and arrest of some suspects, the boy remained traceless.

Aurangabad SP Ganesh Prasad said they were trying to match the photographs and would forward the claim to the Central Government for necessary steps.
