As the JD(U) held Adhikar Rally at Delhi on Sunday, reiterating its demand for special category status,Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said those who will board the sinking ship of the Congress will sink automatically. He was speaking at the state BJP executive here. He also said the state unit was ready to contest the 2014 elections under Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
The two-day state executive meeting that issued message of solidarity on Saturday with senior party leader Arun Jaitley asking for a united NDA show and also praised Nitish Kumar for Bihars makeover, appeared to have changed its tone and tenor on Sunday.
I have 35 years of association with Narendra Modi right from my ABVP days. It is the media that has been trying to create difference between me and Modi. We know that 2014 is going to be a battle between the BJP ideology and a Congress family. We are ready to go to the polls under the leadership of Narendra Modi if the party decides so, said the Bihar Deputy Chief Minister.
He said the BJP and the JD(U) fought hard to defeat Lalu Prasad and brought the state on the path of progress. The Congress now has become a sinking ship and those willing to ride it will sink automatically, said Modi.
Senior BJP leader and Patna Sahib MP Shatrughan Sinha added a new line to the NaMo (Narendra Modi) chant: NaMo and SuMo (Sushil Modi) are together. Our SuMo is dabang.
Meanwhile, the party decided to postpone its Hunkar rally to October 27 from April 15. Shifting the rallys date to demand special status for Bihar and alleged discrimination of the state by the Centre was announced by Bihar BJP president Mangal Pandey.
The rally was touted as a big event as previous state BJP chief C P Thakur had said Narendra Modi would be invited in the rally.
