After launching a novel exercise to spot hidden talents among its MPs,the BJP is set to give a crash course in ‘image building’ and ‘performance’ to its first-time parliamentarians, who form almost half of its strength in the Lok Sabha.

The party has drawn up a plan to hold a three-day brainstorming session for its fresh faces in Parliament — 55 in the Lok Sabha and 20 in the Rajya Sabha — later this month. The debutant MPs would get guidance from senior leaders L K Advani,Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley.

According to the plan,Jaitley, the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, would address the MPs on the topic of “media and image building” while his Lok Sabha counterpart Swaraj would give inputs on “how to become an effective MP”.

The training session,to be held in Delhi, would be inaugurated by Advani and party chief Nitin Gadkari would deliver the concluding address. Several veteran parliamentarians like Ram Naik will interact with the new faces during their orientation.
