BJP dares PM to act against Maya govt

BJP leader and Lucknow MP Lalji Tandon today challenged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to take action against the UP government for misusing funds for welfare schemes under the Centre’s Bundelkhand package. Tandon said if the Centre is really concerned about the fate of the welfare schemes in the state,it should constitute an inquiry committee. “So many times,the Congress has accused the Mayawati government of irregularities in central welfare schemes. I would like to know why despite these allegations,no concrete action has been taken so far,” Tandon told reporters at state BJP headquarters on Saturday. Tandon also took a dig at Rahul Gandhi. “Rahul Gandhi seeking information through RTI is only drama. Since most of the investigative agencies are in New Delhi,he could have easily sought information from there,” the BJP leader said.
