BJP: Evil intent behind Hindu terror probe

Alleging that the Hindu terror trail in NIA charge-sheets was motivated by the "evil intent of the political establishment" led by the Congress at the Centre, the BJP Tuesday raised its pitch against Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde's Hindu terror remarks, saying he has insulted "the entire nation and the culture and tradition of this nation" and that he will have to "bear the consequences" inside and outside Parliament.

"The resolution of the Committee on Sanctions of the UN Security Council (passed in 2009) points to the involvement of Karachi-based businessman Arif Qasmani, LeT and al-Qaeda in the Samjhauta blasts but this was suppressed in the investigation by the NIA," senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi said at a press conference at the party headquarters.

Joshi said that there was also evidence to show that SIMI was involved in the blasts, and so were David Headley and his third wife Faiza Outalha but the NIA ignored it. "These facts destroy the case in NIA chargesheet and confirms the evil intent of the political establishment," he said.

Joshi also highlighted that Pakistan's Interior Minister Rehman Malik had in January 2010 admitted that "Pakistani terrorists were hired for the blast" to substantiate his claim.

He alleged that NIA has "fabricated" a false story on "saffron terror" ignoring all these facts in "public domain".

Attacking the Congress, he said, "They are indulging into a politics of vote bank and appeasement. This policy will fuel separatism and communal tension in the country. Home Minister will be responsible for it." He asserted that the BJP will strongly oppose the alleged "communal appeasement" by the government. He said Shinde will have to pay a price because the principal opposition was "seriously thinking about" boycotting him during the Parliament session.
