Senior BJP leader and Lucknow MP Lalji Tandon asked the state government to act above political lines and take strict action against the anti-social elements who were involved in the violence and attack on mediapersons in Lucknow on Friday. A number of commuters and mediapersons were injured as a group of people shouting slogans against alleged atrocities on minorities in Assam and Myanmar resorted to stone pelting and vandalism in the Old City area. At a press meet, Tandon said ommunal violence had never occurred in Lucknow. He said he had resolved the decade-long rift between Shia and Sunni sects in Lucknow several years back. He said if these anti-social elements are not stoppped the situation could become serious .
