The Election Commission may have put on hold all networking for the biennial Vibrant Gujarat Global Investor Summit till the Gujarat Assembly polls, but the BJP does not shy flaunting testimonials of industry leaders on its website.
The testimonials on Chief Minister Narendra Modi and his government were written by Ron Somers, president of the United States India Business Council; Ratan Tata of the Tata Group and Anil Ambani of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, among others, during the 2011 summit.
"These testimonials and more were put on the industry department's website with these industry leaders' photos. But the department removed it after the model code of conduct came into force and we have put these important testimonials on our website," said a senior BJP leader who is associated to with the website's operation.
"I firmly believe that the United States and India's partnership will shape the destiny of 21st century. And as I see Canada and Japan as Gujarat's partner countries, my aim for the next Vibrant Gujarat Summit is that USA will be partner country of Gujarat," reads Somers's testimonial.
The quote by Tata says, "Modi's leadership is exemplary, Gujarat will provide leadership beyond country", while Ambani's quote says, "While Mahatma Gandhi created wealth of values and principles, late Dhirubhai Ambani created wealth of entrepreneurship. Now there is the third individual; Narendrabhai Modi who has been the greatest change agent in India in last decade."
