BJP general secretary Ravi Shankar Prasad on Saturday warned the UPA government against showing its face of Emergency days because India had changed a lot since then. This is not India of 1975. now BJP rules over 36 per cent of India,he said, warning that his party would launch a massive agitation if peoples rights were trampled upon. Prasad told the Congress to come up with something new because its oft-repeated of charge of RSS-BJP hand behind its troubles had already passed its expiry date. Prasad sought to know as to why the UPA government was not giving a time-bound action plan against corruption and for unearthing black money. Prasad said that every new scam coming out was also showing a growingly repressive character of the UPA government which would not take any credible and effective action in unearthing black money because this would expose its own people, especially after arrest of Hasan Ali who faces income tax demand of Rs 1.75 lakh crore. Describing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as CEO of a company owned by Sonia and Rahul Gandhi who take no responsibility,he said the Manmohan Singh government was rudderless ship. He said with full responsibility that had the media and his party BJP not built effective pressure on the government on black money, people like Raja,Suresh Kalmadi and Kanimozhi would never have been put behind the bars. He alleged the UPA government was suppressing Ramdevs fight against corruption through undemocratic means on the one hand and welcoming anti-India people like Syed Ali Shah Gilani in Delhi on the other. It is against this repression that we are launching a Virodh Abhiyan (protest campaign) between June 23 and 26, he said.
