Jaswant Singh said if the party wanted to rise and stand big, it would have to change its attitude.

Ruling out the possibility of returning to BJP or joining any other party, expelled leader Jaswant Singh on Monday said the ideology of the saffron outfit has "become narrow".

"There is no point in returning to the party which expelled me...BJP's ideology has become narrow... if the party wants to rise and stand big, it will have to change its attitude," Singh told reporters here.

"I do not not harbour any ambition or plan to join any other political party," Singh, who was here to release the Urdu translation of his book 'Jinnah, Partition and Independence', said.

Justifying his comments on Jinnah, Singh said he would not change his stand and would keep on trying to bridge the gap between Hindus and Muslims.

On the reported pressure on him to step down as chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Lok Sabha, he said, "The post I occupy has not not been bestowed upon me as dowry by BJP... a member of the house is eligible to keep the post."

Jaswant also ruled out seeking elections afresh from Darjeeling from where he was elected to the Lok Sabha on a BJP ticket in May last, just three months before his expulsion from the party.

However, he said he did not plan to quit electoral politics and he was serving Darjeeling.

Narrow ideology party is doing well:By: SC Aggarwal | 03-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward According to Mr.Jaswant Singh, the former FM and Foreign Minister BJP has narrow ideology. O.K. Mr. Jaswant Singh. Now you perform Kirtan against BJP and start pointing out all ills of BJP. You may be a honest person but you now you are zero in the eyes of your well wishers. For your information BJP ruled States are doing much better good work for the welfare of the people. BJP was prevented to serve thepeople of Jhaarkhand and Madhu Koda was promoted by persons like Mr. Jaswant Singh. Results are clear. Any how you should be happy in your new role as MP and chairman of PAC.
JasBy: Jay | 03-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward The dilemma of Jaswant is not unique. Having been elected on BJP ticket, he has still not chosen to quit the MP post, leave alone the PAC post. With such a longing to keep power posts, he cannot dare to comment on BJP's intention to seize power by its own orchestrations. And, no one can say that the Hindus are not broadminded or being narrow in their approach. Among the people that I have seen in the world so far, Hindus have the broadest mindset and are being constricted in today's India by so many anti-Hindu forces acting in tandem ! If you have any conscience left still, Jaswant, you cannot claim that Hindus are narrow-minded !
Broad-minded!!!By: Raj | 03-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Jas, y r u so narrow-miinded- unlike many Hindus. Jaswant spoke about BJP. MOreover, Jaswant is a Hindu too. Why don't you tolerate him and his views.
BJP's ideologyBy: V K Das | 03-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward The BJP's ideology has undergone no change. It was always very narrow and that is why it could not find roots in the national political psyche. Jaswant Singh has seen the light of the day only now because he has come out of the darkness imposed by party membership.BJP has no future as the people of India do not accept narrow political thinking. It will go the way of the Hindu Mahasabha and face an early demise.
BJP's ideology has become narrow: JaswantBy: AMP | 03-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward He is the one who spoiled it. He is the one who is responsible to make India weak against terrorists surrendering them Afghanistan! He should retire from Public life since no party is going to take a traitor!

We r not interested in hate.By: N.V.SANKARAN | 06-Nov-2009 Reply | Forward Mr. Rajesh,What a noble thought!!! But you do hate RSS and other Hindu organizations for whatever reasons you perceive, don't you? Why don't you, just put aside some of your prejudices first and try to see if there is any truth in what the RSS supporters are saying like a mature and impartial person, before you blindly hate them?
