Two men, an engineer and an MBA student, were killed when a Blueline bus hit their bike in Ashram area on Sunday evening. Police said that the accused driver fled after the accident leaving his bus behind. The incident occurred around 4.50 pm.
The deceased have been identified as Anjani Kumar (24) and Kundan Kumar (25). They were on a bike, when a Blueline bus, plying on route number 543 (Anand Vihar to Safdarjung hospital), hit them from behind. Police officials said that both the men crashed on the road and were killed instantly.
The police took the bodies of the victims to the Safdarjung hospital mortuary. The police have registered a case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving against the accused driver and impounded the bus.
Residents of the area also pelted stones at the bus, damaging it.
Police said that Anjani Kumar was an MBA student at a private institute and Kundan used to work as a junior engineer in a telecom company.
