A bomb threat call turned out to be hoax at Rachana Sansad College of Architecture in Dadar on Tuesday morning. The police said a peon at the college received a call from an anonymous woman claiming that a bomb had been planted on the premises.
College authorities alerted the police who rushed to the spot and conducted an extensive search. The building was evacuated. However, after searching the premises for over 2 hours, nothing was found by the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad.
“Around 9 am on Tuesday, the peon attended a call from a woman who claimed that a bomb had been planted in the college which would go off in an hour. The peon immediately informed the principal and college staff. Following this, everyone in the college was asked to evacuate the building,” said Ashok Unde, senior police inspector, Dadar police station .
“It was a hoax call. We suspect that someone from the college may have played a prank. Around 200-250 college students were asked to leave the college after the call. We are trying to trace the caller,” added Unde.
