  • A bomb hoax led to the evacuation of people from the HSBC Bank near the High Court at Fort area on Friday. The Mumbai Police Control room received a call at 11:30 am claiming that a bomb had been planted in the building. The Azad Maidan police reached the spot along with the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) and declared the building safe at 12:30 pm. No arrests have been made so far. “A call was received by the police control room this morning and we reached the spot in 15 minutes. The BDDS team was also with us. After evacuating the building, we combed it and declared the threat a hoax,” said an officer of the Azad Maidan Police Station. “The entire operation took about an hour’s time,” he added.
