Bombs made in Indore,taken to Ajmer by Joshi

The bombs used in the Ajmers blasts were assembled in Indore and transferred by slain RSS activist Sunil Joshi first to Godhra and then to Ajmer,says the National Investigation Agency (NIA) that recently filed its first supplementary chargesheet against two accused after taking over the probe.

From Godhra,five people took the bombs to Ajmer on the morning of October 11,2007,when the explosion took place.

The agency says Swami Aseemanand was the ideologue of the group and provided logistical,financial and moral support to the terrorists.

In the chargesheet,filed against accused Mukesh Vasani and Harshad Solanki at an NIA court in Jaipur,the agency says locals from Godhra and Dewas were used to plant the bombs.

The chargesheet,accessed by The Indian Express,says Joshi used a Santro car (MP 43 C 0903) owned by one Anand Raj Kataria to carry the bombs from Dewas to Godhra.

Kataria is currently under arrest for Sunil Joshis murder.

The four pipe bombs were assembled by Ramji Kalsangra and Sandeep Dange at the formers residence in Indore. Two of them were used in Ajmer and rest in the blasts at Mecca Masjid in Hyderabad,says the chargesheet.

Investigators say Devendra Gupta (arrested in Ajmer blasts) procured SIM cards on a fake identities from Jharkhand and West Bengal. Joshi helped him in forging identity papers and they procured 11 SIM cards and 4 mobile phones with these fake documents.

The agency says the explosives were collected by Lokesh Sharma (arrested in the Ajmer blasts) from one Krishan Pandey in Mhow. The explosives were later handed over to Kalsangra. However,the agency is yet to establish the origin of explosives.

Sleuths say Gupta arranged the detonators and kept them at Mihijam. After obtaining the SIM cards and mobile phones,Dange,Kalsangra and Joshi prepared four pipe bombs fitted with the SIM cards and mobile phones, says the chargesheet.

Two bombs were sent from Godhra using several modes of transport. On October 10,2007,Joshi,Mehul and one Sunny came to Godhra at the house of Vasani in a Santro car. They handed over two bags containing bombs to one Bhavesh Patel (absconding). Joshi left for Dewas in the car after delivery of the bombs while Mehul,Bhavesh,Vasani,Suresh Nayar and Sunny (both absconding) travelled in a private bus from Godhra to Baroda and then in a private bus from Baroda to Udaipur, states the chargesheet.

From Udaipur to Ajmer,they travelled in an unknown jeep used to transport newspapers in the early hours. At 11 am on October 11,the group reached Ajmer. The bags containing the bombs were with Mehul and Sunny.

Thereafter they went to Pushkar and came back at 5 pm to the Ajmer bus stand. An autoricksaw was hired from the bus stand to Ajmer Dargah from 16 Khamba Gate The bomb at Aahat-e-noor was planted by Sunny and at Ebata Khana,the bomb was planted by Mehul. After this,all five came out of the dargah and triggered the blasts, says the chargesheet based on the statement of Vasani.
