  • A Nine-year old boy, who had gone to bathe in the the Sidhwan canal, is feared to have drowned in the canal near Dugri bridge this noon. The boy, Vicky, a resident of Morinda, had gone to bathe in the Sidhwan canal along with some of his friends when he was washed away by the gushing waters of the canal. While his other friends managed to come out, Vicky was unable to do so. Later a search operation was carried by the relatives of the boy but till the filing of this report, Vicky could not be found.

Mukesh Kumar, a maternal uncle of Vicky, told the mediapersons that his sister (Vicky’s mother) Sunita had come to their house from her in-laws house at Morinda and had been staying with them at their house in Dhakka colony here. He said that when Vicky had come along with his friends to the canal, they had little idea that he would not ret`urn.
