A 12-year-old boy was killed after he was allegedly sodomised in Chandauli district on Wednesday. The incident triggered protests with locals attacking the office of the additional district magistrate.
The police arrested two persons — Niranjan alias Appu and Nagendra — on Thursday for their alleged involvement in the crime.
The half-naked body of Kishan Jaiswal, son of a local advocate, was recovered from a deserted area near his house on Wednesday.
Kishan had gone out to play with friends but didn’t return till Tuesday night following which his family informed the police.
Later, locals spotted Kishan’s bruised body in a deserted government quarter. The body has been sent for a postmortem.
Angry locals protested against the murder and barged into the court of additional district magistrate and broke furniture.
They also demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and action against local police officers, who they alleged failed to take timely action.
The situation was brought under control only after police promised action against the concerned police officers. Heavy police force has been deployed in the area to prevent any untoward incident.
