Boy in bus killed as head hits hoarding

A nine-year-old boy died after being hit by a hoarding when he allegedly put his head outside the window of a moving school bus.

A nine-year-old boy died after being hit by a hoarding when he allegedly put his head outside the window of a moving school bus. The deceased has been identified as Viraj Parmar,a resident of Pratiksha Nagar.

The incident took place near the Sree Vallabh Ashram English Medium School in Sion on Wednesday afternoon. Parmar was reportedly going back home when the accident took place around 1 pm,said officers of the Sion police station.

“He was going back home and saw a friend walk by. He put his head outside the window to wave at him. As he did so,his head hit a hoarding near the school. He died on the spot,” said an officer.

Parmar was rushed to Sion Hospital by the staff of the school,but he was declared dead on arrival. They also informed Parmar’s parents. The police registered an accidental death report in the case. “We are speaking to other students and teachers and have recorded some statements,” said the officer.

The police have detained the cleaner of the bus,but are yet to speak to the driver,who is reportedly absconding. “We are trying to trace the driver. We have to question the cleaner to ascertain what had really happened.”
