* Parts of the city too had sudden thundershowers Monday,thanks to a combination of westerlies,increasing moisture from the sea and high daytime temperature,the Met office says.

* Forecast is more showers for a couple of days weakening as the winter sets in

* This is due to the combination of westerlies and lot of moisture from the sea and daytime temperatures of 34-35-°C. This is not unusual,thundershowers happen before and after monsoon, says V K Rajiv,regional director of India Meteorological Departments regional weather forecasting centre.
