“The MMRDA has done some appreciable work as far as the resettlement and rehabilitation of its project-affected families are concerned. We obviously wanted to understand more about it to help authorities back in Rio de Janeiro implement the same relevantly,” Campanaro said.

Officials from the delegation said the metropolitan planning authority of Rio de Janeiro, which is also rapidly developing road infrastructure,is similarly placed with regards to the populace, rights of its people and financial structure.

The delegation will also visit projects of Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) and Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA).
