Wheat bread, which is priced at Rs 15 will become dearer by Re 1.

Ramesh Maggo, owner of Kitty Breads and also the Vice-president of the All-India Bread Manufacturers’ Association, said, “Initially, we had hiked the price of 800 gram packing but in the coming week we may hike the prices of all other packings as well.”

He said, “After the FCI decided to sell flour at a higher price, the price of maida has been increased from Rs 12 a kg to Rs 18 a kg. Hence, we are left with no choice but to hike the prices of bread.”
