The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has registered a case against Congress MP K Sudhakaran for his controversial speech in which he alleged that he was witness to a Supreme Court judge being bribed.
According to Vigilance sources,the case was registered suo motu on Saturday on charge of concealing from authorities an alleged act of corruption despite being aware of it.
Sudhakaran said the case against him was part of the ruling LDFs political vengeance. Sudhakaran had made the controversial speech in Kollam on February 12. He had alleged that he was witness to an SC judge being bribed on behalf of some bar owners from the state for getting a favourable order in a bar license case several years back.
Sudhakarans claim had embarrassed Congress leadership,but he stood by the statement holding that he would provide details if he was called upon to do so by the appropriate authorities or his party leadership.
