  • ‘Grandfather’ Tendulkar

    New Delhi: Sachin Tendulkar may be just 36 but he is already being addressed as grandfather by his team mates, said Yuvraj Singh. Paying tribute to the batting maestro’s longevity, Yuvraj said it would be difficult for any other player to survive the wears and tears for 20 years. “We have started calling him grandfather,” Yuvraj said in jest.

    T20 WC tickets go on sale

    Dubai: The tickets for next year’s T20 World Cup went on sale on Sunday with tournament director Robert Bryan launching the ticket sales at Kensington Oval in Barbados. ICC president Haroon Lorgat said he was hopeful of fans turning up to buy the tickets because of their reasonable pricing. The tournament will be held in West Indies in April 2010.

    Uthappa eyes comeback

    Kolkata: A minor change in batting stance, grip and back-lift has done wonders for Robin Uthappa, who is eyeing an India comeback after being on the sidelines for more than 15 months. "I have worked a lot on my batting. There is a slight alteration in the way I bat now. There is a change in grip, stance, and there is a bit of modification in the back-lift. It's really working out for me," Uthappa said here.

    PCB recalls team official

    Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board has changed the assistant manager of the national team midway through its tours to Abu Dhabi, Dubai and New Zealand for a T20, one-day and Test series. Chairman Ejaz Butt ordered that Asad Mustafa, who has gone to the Emirates as associate manager of the team, will return home after the ODI series and Muhammad Ahmed will replace him for the Test tour of New Zealand.
