Delhi CM throws open DSGMC inn Amritsar: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Sunday inaugurated Guru Teg Bahadur Niwas,a serai (inn),constructed by DSGMC in Amritsar. Dikshit,who reached Amritsar on Saturday evening,paid obeisance at Golden Temple. Asked about the ongoing water crisis in Delhi,Dikshit said that it was disappointing that New Delhi was not able to draw water even after paying nearly Rs 650 crore to Haryana. Haryana is saying that New Delhi did not have any share in the water. It is disappointing, she added. 3 held for forgery in Ferozepur CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Police on Sunday arrested three persons,Manjit Singh,Suba Singh and Darshan Singh on charges of cheating,fraud,forgery and criminal conspiracy in Ferozepur. Cops book 13 for illegal mining CHANDIGARH: Thirteen people were booked in Ferozepur on charges of operating an unauthorised mining network in the district. The accused are all residents of Ferozepur district and have been involved in unauthorised mining in the area for several weeks. Fire at RCF paint storage facility KAPURTHALA: A paint storage facility of Kapurthala Rail Coach factory (RCF) was gutted in a fire on Sunday evening. Nearly 150 drums carrying 20 liters of paint were stored in the facility. The cause of the fire has not been ascertained.
