LUCKNOW: A team of experts from the Wildlife Trust of India has not been able to tranquilise a 14-month-old tiger which strayed from the jungles of Pilibhit into a 2.5 sq km stretch of thickets on the banks of Jhukna river,a tributary of Gomti in Puranpur area,and has been roaming there for more than three months. The WTI team which is conducting operations since June 1,has not been able to dart the tiger. However,the tiger has not eaten any of the villagers animals. Forest guards have been deployed in the villages,said a forest official.
7-yr-old raped and killed,teen held
LUCKNOW: A seven-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped and battered to death in Dewa area of Barabanki district on Tuesday. The police arrested a teenage boy who confessed to the crime. Barabanki SP D K Rai said the incident took place at Mamapur village where the girls body was found about 50 yards from her house. The police interrogated the boy who confessed.
Man shot in Lucknow
lucknow: A 35-year old man was shot dead in Ghazipur police station area on Tuesday evening. He was identified as Hemendra Pratap,a resident of Sarvodaya Nagar.
