China covered by fog; Beijing air 'hazardous'
Beijing: Major parts of eastern and central China were shrouded under a thick layer of haze and fog Satuday while pollution in capital Beijing was at "hazardous" levels. Several flights were cancelled and 20 highways were closed in eastern China where visibility levels dropped drastically.
Protest over temple demolition in Moscow
NEW DELHI: The Moscow administration has ordered the demolition of the only Hindu shrine in the city, a Krishna temple run by ISKCON, by January 15. The temple has been deemed to be "violating the urban planning code". Objecting to it, ISKCON claims they had been allowed to build the structure after the demolition of a previous temple in 2004 due to city reconstruction.

Brussels: Deaf Belgian identical twins used a decade-old euthanasia law in a mercy-killing pact after they began to go blind, Flemish media reported Saturday. The 45-year-old men were from the Antwerp area, Het Laatste Nieuws said.
Largest cosmic structure discovered
London: Astronomers have discovered the largest known structure in the universe — a cluster of galaxies that spans an astonishing four billion light years. The sprawling structure is known as a large quasar group (LQG), in which quasars powered by super-massive black holes clump together.
