Man on shooting spree kills 3 in US

Tustin: A fleeing murder suspect forced out a man from his BMW and shot him thrice in Orange County, police said Wednesday. The shooting was the second of three murders in a trail of carnage early Tuesday that lasted just an hour. The shooter, 20-year-old Ali Syed, killed a woman in the home he shared with his parents, killed two drivers during carjackings, injured two others and shot up cars on a busy freeway interchange before committing suicide as police closed in, authorities said.

US mom delivers two sets of identical twins

Houston: A US mother has made history by giving birth to two sets of identical twins in one day, beating the odds of one in 70 million. Thirty six-year-old Tressa Montalvo from Texas got a quadruple Valentine's Day gift as she gave birth to Ace, Blaine, Cash and Dylan at the Woman's Hospital of Texas in Houston. "We tried to stick to the A-B-C-D theme when naming them," Montalvo said in a statement issued by the hospital.

Top Pak Taliban commander captured

Islamabad: Senior Pakistani Taliban commander Maulvi Faqir Mohammad has been captured by Afghan intelligence agencies in an area along the border with Pakistan, according to media reports Wednesday. Pakistani security officials were quoted by the Dawn newspaper as saying that reports about Mohammad's arrest in Afghanistan appeared to be correct.

Nepal ex-crown prince suffers heart attack

Bangkok: Flamboyant former Nepalese crown prince Paras Shah has been hospitalised at a hospital here after suffering a heart attack, media reports said Wednesday. Shah, 42, was admitted to Samitivej hospital late Tuesday night. The hospital, however, refused to divulge details of the prince's health.

Hostages: French forces arrive in Cameroon

DAKAR: French special forces arrived in northern Cameroon from their regional base in Chad to help an investigation to locate seven French nationals, including four children, kidnapped on Tuesday."French special forces came in yesterday from N'Djamena to help with the investigation. They left yesterday and came back today," Augustine Fonka Awa, governor of Cameroon's Far North Region said.
