Black and red are not the only colours that celebrities have donned for formal events lately. Bright hues like orange, canary yellow and hot pink are the new favourites on the red carpet. “Black and red are the classic colours but they are also extremely boring,” says designer Rina Dhaka. So while Terri Hatcher prefers to wear a yellow gown, Brooke Shields goes for a hot pink and Cynthia Nixon for a bright green. “Colour is big right now. It’s playful and adds a lot to your personality,” says Dhaka.
