Palampur police have arrested two men for allegedly raping an 18-year-old British girl near Bandla, some 50 km from here in Kangra district, on Thursday night.

Kangra SP Atul Fulzele said the alleged rapists, Rakesh Kumar and Sunil Kumar, belong to the Bandla suburban area near Palampur.

The victim was in Himachal Pradesh along with several other boys and girls on a study tour organised by an NGO. Fuzlele said she stayed in Bandla, and had on Thursday night hired a taxi driven by the alleged rapists to return home from Palampur. The men raped her at an isolated spot near Bandla before dropping her off, he said. The girl walked five kilometres to Palampur, reaching the police station around 2 am on Friday.
