The average Briton spends 54 days of their life kissing -- but they actually pucker up far less after marriage, a new survey has revealed.

According to the survey, a couple usually snog at least six times a day, kiss eight times and peck each other on the cheek six times while courting. But their passion fades away after they enter into a wedlock.

In fact, that plummets to just four snogs a day, six kisses and five pecks after they have tied the knot.

Researchers at 'onepoll.com' have based their conclusion after quizzing over 3,000 couples. After ten years of marriage, 44 per cent claim that days go by without sharing a passionate kiss.

"The harsh reality is after ten years, a fifth of couples are drifting apart and don't kiss as much because they don't want to," a spokesman for 'onepoll.com' was quoted by the Daily Star as saying.
