Brown seeks explanation for Rihanna picture leak out

The Lawyers of Chris have filed papers demanding an explanation over the leaked pictures of Rihanna.

The Lawyers of R&B singer Chris Brown have filed papers in a Los Angeles court demanding an explanation from the city’s police department over the leaked pictures of a battered and bruised Rihanna.

The ‘Kiss Kiss’ singer is facing charges on two counts of felony –assault and making criminal threats following an alleged altercation with ex-girlfriend Rihanna on February 8,celebrity website TMZ.com reported.

News of the incident,which occurred just hours before the Grammy Awards,quickly spread online and a week later TMZ.com posted a picture showing Rihanna with contusions on her forehead,a swollen nose and a bloody lip.

The picture sparked a public outcry which led to an investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) into how the photo made it to the Internet.

Now Brown’s legal team have filed a motion asking officials at LAPD to provide information about how the private details of the case were leaked on the net.

Brown’s lawyer,Mark Geragos,told Los Angeles County Court last week that the charges against Brown should be dropped if it is proved that sensitive information was leaked.

Geragos said,”Leaks can form the basis for a motion to dismiss the case in regard to outrageous governmental misconduct.”

Brown who has pleaded not guilty to the charges,could face five years of imprisonment if convicted.
