Reliance Energy-backed discom BRPL has made additional arrangements to procure adequate quantity of power to meet the demands during the winter months for its nearly 15 lakh consumers. A BRPL official said the company has taken steps to ensure a buffer of 3-5 per cent of power over and above the anticipated demand. BRPL CEO Gopal Saxena said the buffer will ensure that the company is not caught unawares,if the demand increases than expected. The power demand this winter in BRPL licensed area is expected to go upto 1450 MW respectively. BRPL has made firm arrangements to cater to this demand by contracting bi-lateral purchases even at higher rates as may be necessary to ensure uninterrupted supply, the official said.
