BSP to be our main rival in UP polls: Mulayam

Mayawati had ignored interests of farmers and the poor and had institutionalised corruption.

Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today said the BSP would be its main rival in next year’s assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh.

“Though the Congress and the BJP will also be there,our main fight will be with the BSP in the upcoming assembly polls in UP,” he told party workers here.

Yadav alleged the Mayawati government had ignored interests of farmers and the poor and had institutionalised corruption.

Taking potshots at Mayawati,he said she calls herself “dalit ki beti” but wore sandals costing Rs 15 lakh.

The SP president said his party would form the next government in UP after the assembly polls and at the Centre after 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Earlier,a meeting of the SP Parliamentary Board discussed ways to make party’s Kranti Rathyatra,commencing September 12,a success.

It also discussed issues like flood situation and shortage of fertilisers.
