BSP to celebrate party’s silver jubilee on Kanshiram birthday

The BSP will celebrate the silver jubilee of its foundation in Lucknow on March 15 — the birth anniversary of party founder Kanshiram. While the party turned 25 last year,the celebrations were not carried out as party members were busy with the Lok Sabha polls and Assembly elections.

The party will hold the “Rashtriya Vishal Maharally” on the premises of Ramabai Ambedkar ground in Lucknow to celebrate the party’s silver jubilee,said BSP supremo and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Monday. On the occasion,the party will throw light on the achievements it has made in the 25 years since it was founded on April 14,1984,added the CM.

Two special bulletins on the party and its founder Kanshiram will be released during the rally. A film depicting the struggle of Kanshiram would be screened at the Kanshiram Smarak Sthal on the VIP Road in Lucknow,added Mayawati.

Asserting that BSP workers from across the country would participate in the rally,the CM said she would hold rally-related discussions with party functionaries on February 16.

She blamed the Congress for its ‘failure’ in uplifting the downtrodden,backward castes and religious minorities.
