BSP workers likely to join Cong in Delhi

Apparently dissatisfied with the functioning of the party,a group of BSP workers in South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency is likely to join the Cong.

Apparently dissatisfied with the functioning of the party,a group of BSP workers in South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency is likely to join the Congress.

“A group of BSP workers,considered close to BSP MLA from Badarpur Ram Singh Netaji,is set to join the Congress tomorrow [on Friday,” a senior Congress leader said.

“Their decision to join the Congress shows our party’s growing strength in the city,” he said.

The South Delhi constituency,which saw a drastic demographic change in profile following delimitation,has nearly three lakh Scheduled Caste and dalit population who could play a prominent role in the outcome of the election.

The BSP has fielded Kanwar Singh Tanwar,the wealthiest candidate in last year’s Delhi Assembly,who had contested from Chhatarpur Assembly segment.

Upbeat over BSP workers shifting to their camp,the Congress leader said his party was confident of wresting the South Delhi seat. Ram Singh Netaji was in the Congress and had joined BSP last year.
