  • Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee will now monitor the reporting hours of government employees, said state Finance Minister Asim Dasgupta today on the sidelines of a programme at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

“State government employees have been instructed to attend office on time. The decision comes after most of them were found to be not abiding by duty hours. From Monday, record of each employees’ attendance will be monitored and if they do not attend office on time, strict action will be taken against them,’ Dasgupta said.

Meanwhile, Dasgupta also announced that 12 ambulances would be launched in Kolkata within the next six months to provide immediate trauma care to patients. He was speaking at the inauguration of a 40-bed oncology ward and the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Trauma Care Centre at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on Friday.
