    Meanwhile, in Singur two more cheques were handed out, taking the total number of farmers who received compensation to 27.

    The number of applications for cheques now stands at 45.

    The deadline for giving 10 per cent of the compensation money to all those who did not receive cheques is expiring on Monday.
