At today’s meeting, the chief minister said that while the police would carry on with their duty of restoring law and order in the area, the state government would take up the task of removing poverty.
Arrested Maoists send to police remand
The two suspected CPI (Maoist) activists, who were arrested from a forest near Kargil More in Sarenga in Bankura district on Sunday while trying to plant a landmine, were remanded in police custody for two weeks on Monday.
At the ACJM court in Khatra, Assistant Public Prosecutor S A Rehman said the police arrested Gopinath Murmu (19) and Kanchan Murmu (19) and seized five kilograms of powerful explosive, a wire, switch, a foreign-made pistol and live cartridges from them.
Rehman also said that the CPI (Maoists) activists have disclosed important information to the police.
