As builder Ghanshyam Patadiya remains untraceable, the high-value properties of the alleged fraudster now belong to Sandesh Pvt Ltd and the Purshottam Dham scheme to Mahasukh Adani and Dinesh Bharwad.
A notice has been placed outside Patadiya’s bungalow worth Rs 3 crore at his upscale Purshottam Dham scheme site in Thaltej, which informs that the property has been taken over by the Sandesh group.
Also, a 10,000-sq ft of vacant plot, no 510/2, behind the Purshottam Bungalows scheme site has a similar notice. There was no such notice board at these two properties when the housing fraud had come to light in March this year.
A senior official from the finance department of Sandesh group told Newsline: “Patadiya had taken a loan of nearly Rs 20 crore from us for a new housing scheme on the 10, 000-sq ft of land. In September 2008, he expressed his inability to develop the project. He handed over the plot and his bungalow to us in January this year, probably because he couldn’t payback the debt.” The official, however, denied taking over the Patadiaya Infrastructure Ltd.
The housing scheme courted controversy when one flat of Purshottam Dham society was sold to multiple buyers.
The matter surfaced with the Sandesh Group lodging a complaint in this regard with police. Consequently, Patadiya was arrested and he served his term in jail for a few months.
Three months after coming out of the jail, Patadiya went into hiding along with 14 of his family members in March, after which common buyers started filing complaints against him with the Vastrapur police station.
