Bye-elections for the Hisar Parliamentary seat,which fell vacant following the death of former Haryana chief minister Bhajan Lal,and five Assembly constituencies in as many states will be held on October 13.
Bypolls will also be held for assembly seats of Tiruchirapalli West (Tamil Nadu),Banswada (Andhra Pradesh),Indira Nagar (Puducherry),Khadakwasla (Maharashtra) and Daraunda (Bihar).
While the Khadakwasla seat fell vacant following the death of sitting MLA Ramesh Wanjale of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena,bypoll in Tiruchirapalli West was necessitated due to the death of Mariam Pitchai of AIADMK.
By-election to Banswada is being held after its MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy quit TDP and joined TRS,while Indira Nagar constituency was vacated by Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy.
Notifications for nominations will be issued on September 19 and the last date for filing them is September 26.
While the nominations will be scrutinised on September 27,the last date for withdrawal of candidature is September 29.
The votes polled on October 13 will be counted on October 17,the EC said.
With the announcement,the Model Code of Conduct has come into force with immediate effect in the districts.
The electoral rolls for these Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies have been revised with reference to January 1 as the qualifying date and have been published,the EC said.
