Newsline tried to contact the owner — identified only as one “Mrs Sharma” — but found her mobile phone switched off.

One of Saxena’s roommates, who did not want to be named, returned home at 8.45 pm and was “shocked numb” to find the crowd of onlookers, police and media personnel around the house. When told that Saxena had been murdered, she said, amid sobs, “I met and spoke to her yesterday. I stay in the room next to hers but we shared the same PG in this area before we moved in here.

“I didn’t know her very well, though.”

Saxena’s roommate Lily said she kept to herself most of the time. “She was very shy but I don’t know much about her personal life,” Lily said.

Police officials said Saxena came from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Her father Vijay Saxena is a bank employee there and has been informed. The body has been transferred to AIIMS mortuary and a postmortem would be conducted after her family members arrive.

Career and crime By: Balumuthu | 11-Sep-2008 Reply | Forward It is too early, going by the report, to definitely conclude on a love angle to the crime. But it is true that many boys and girls, now in lakhs, working predominantly in the software industry, get into the trap of romantic adventures without any mature idea of what romance is about. Since tradition runs deep in their blood, they never bother to know that the premarital adventures are in most cases unworkable for them, since career, home ties and relations with unknown people made 'lovers' suddenly, make a horrible admitxure.. Even in the West, where promiscuity is permitted widely in society, such premarital relations, so ubiquitously and irresponsibly forced by ensnaring ads in media and other methods, lead to crimes involving the partners, and far less often to a married life, with the result that the whole society is in tatters, due to tearing apart of families and insoluble problems flowing from it.

Call centre woman murdered in S Delhi flatBy: Umesh Chandra Thakuria | 11-Sep-2008 Reply | Forward This type of incidents prove that it may be a possessive idea that women are independent and they can stay any where they want. This type of incident is not a rare case. In the western countries also, this type of incident is taken place usually. Therefore, my suggestion is that each woman who is especially not in an executive position; should use to stay out side of home town with her own relative only. Women are always found weak comparing to their male counterpart. So they should understand this universal truth and they should proceed accordingly.
Call centre woman murdered in S Delhi flatBy: Urvi | 11-Sep-2008 Reply | Forward I totally disagree with you.In fact, what you suggest will take the progress women have made many steps back.In fact, there should be more policing in all cities where women are working independently.
