Making clear the RSS’s role in BJP affairs, former RSS chief K S Sudarshan on Friday said his organisation believed in “sending out signals to the party when it went astray”. Asked if the RSS intended to tighten its hold over the BJP in the coming days, he said: “Hum sanket de dete hain, agar woh path se alag ho jaate hain. Weh sudhrein ya nahin sudhrein, yeh un par nirbhar karta hai (We send out signals to them when they go astray. It’s up to them then to mend their ways)”. Sudharshan was speaking at a function to launch Superpowering India. The book by Air Marshal A K Mukhopadhyay criticises former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s years in power. “There were maximum massacres of Hindus in J&K, LoC and in international borders during his tenures. He nonchalantly watched or composed poems when majority of Hindus were driven out of Kashmir valley by the resident Muslims in connivance with the infiltrators from Pakistan and PoK,” says the book. Former BJP chief Murli Manohar Joshi was also present.
