  • The results of the Haryana Assembly elections will be out on Thursday, finally putting an end to the suspense.

A day before the final verdict, candidates were seen keeping themselves busy in different ways. While some of them were found visiting temples, praying for their victory, others kept themselves busy with family and party meetings.

Chandigarh Newsline visited some of the candidates in the fray from the Panchkula constituency to gauge the pre-result mood.

“I have worked very hard and have full faith in God that my efforts will pay off. As always, I visited the temple first and then went through the files and records of the voting pattern in various polling booths across the constituency,” said Gyan Chand Gupta, the BJP candidate.

He added that his party has always worked for the development of the constituency and if brought to power, they would prove that.

Meanwhile, Haryana Janhit Congress candidate Shashi Sharma visited the Hanuman temple at Bilaspur near Barwala to seek blessings.

“I went all the way to Bilaspur to pay obeisance at the Hanuman temple. I then addressed some meetings and later spent time playing with my children. I have worked hard for the elections and am quite hopeful of winning. Being a local of the area, I know the problems of the people well and would try to do my level best for the development of the constituency if voted to power.”

INLD candidate Yograj Singh also seemed upbeat. “I am a sportsperson and have always maintained that spirit. I play my best and leave the rest to god. I have been visiting the gym and playing cricket to spend time after the elections. I have also been camping near the BHEL community centre where the counting is to take place to check any instance of foul play.”

    ... contd.
