A car bomb exploded in the capital of Nigeria's oil state of Bayelsa near two properties owned by the deputy governor of the state,but no one was injured in the incident. This is the second time such an explosive devise is used in the oil rich Delta region of Nigeria and the blast took place a few metres away from a hotel owned by the Bayelsa State Deputy Governor Peremobowei Ebebi. No group has claimed responsibility for the blast. Nigerian Police said its Anti-Bomb Disposal Unit it is combing the area in search of any clue to help identify who were involved in the incident. Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police Onuoha Uka Udeka described the incident as unacceptable and that the police will do all it can to bring the culprits to book. "The anti-squad unit has been able to recovered 4 unexploded dynamites and jerry cans of petrol bombs," he told the media. The state's acting Commissioner for Information Nathan Egba said people ought to be extra vigilant and report all suspicious activities to security agencies.
