In a major success, the Model Town police headed by SHO Sandeep Wadehra on Thursday busted a gang of car thieves and recovered three Zen cars from them.

Giving this information, SP City-2, Sneh Deep said, “The Model Town police stopped Amresh Kumar alias Sonu and Jaswinder Singh Singh, both residents of Ludhiana, at a naka. The duo were stopped for questioning by PCR No. 28 and we found that the duo were driving a Zen car that they had stolen. They had changed the number of the car.”

The SP added, “Further interrogation revealed that there were two more people in this gang, Sukhwinder Singh and Jaspal Singh. When we arrested these two people, we recovered two more Zen cars that had been stolen. Their number plates too had been changed and fake RCs prepared for them.”

The police have also recovered fake stamps of DTO office from Jaspal Singh that were used to make new documents for the stolen cars. An FIR has been lodged at Model Town police station.
