Deccan360 Domestic Express Logistics, a hub-and-spoke cargo venture by Captain Gopinath’s Deccan360, was launched at the international airport here by civil aviation minister Praful Patel on Wednesday. The company will initially operate 8 freight aircraft — 5 ATRs and 3 Airbuses (set to go up to 15 at a later stage) — to transport cargo of customers from different destinations of the country to Nagpur and then redistribute it to desired destinations by air or by road. “In addition, we will be setting up a logistics warehousing facility for companies flying their cargo with us on 50 acres,” Gopinath told mediapersons, adding, “we will have 60 warehousing franchisees, along with 300 trucks with GPS facilities as part of our fleet to provide a seamless, end-to-end logistics service.” Gopinath said Nagpur’s central location makes it the ideal site for the project.
